The fascinating art of Tarot reading has an amazing history. But where did they originate the Tarot cards? Some speculate that Tarot may have originated in Egypt, but no concrete evidence to support these assertions.

While standard letters migrated to Europe in the late 14th century with the Mamelukes of Egypt, is an exaggeration to say that invented the Tarot, card games or divination practices associated with it. In fact, the modern Tarot as we know it today is a collection of images and symbols of a variety of cultures, from ancient Greece, Romania, Norway, India, Egypt, Italy and France.

Some people speculate that Pythagoras, one of the gurus of modern philosophy first day and esoteric practices, may have invented the Tarot precursors through his work with mathematics, music, tetractys, and numerology.

Furthermore, it is no surprise that Tarot cards were under the condemnation of his conception by the religious authorities of the time. They were frowned upon by the Roman Catholic Church, especially as a way idolatry.

Interestingly enough science was much kinder to the Tarot than religion. For example, Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud signed tarot beliefs. Carl Jung attaches symbolic significance to the attribution of the Tarot cards with type properties inkblot. These enabled the psychologist to make inferences evaluative on the characteristics of the archetype of an individual. The cards helped to identify the characteristics that represent the subconscious symbolic and pre-attributes symbolic that affect how they see themselves, others and their environment.

However, most modern psychologists welcome the idea of using Tarot card therapeutic contexts to archetypal analysis. These archetypal analysis methods are relegated to the margins of clinical practice.

Revealing the true origin of Tarot cards can not happen with empirical certainty. But one thing is certain the aid of occult divination are determined to continue through the ages as a mystical tool for determining the answers to questions about past events, present and future.
