Just curious (Twilight question)?
So I hear a lot of 'Team Edward' and 'Team Jacob " I wondered how it would be able to explain why you prefer Edward or Jacob (or any others) without using the words 'hot' and 'sexy' or any other physical descriptions. We are talking about creating the fictional character here, not the actors.
Edward because is more mature than Jacob, is more pleasant, he is protective over Bella and cares for her. (He does not turn into a vampire when she wants because he thinks being a vampire is a monster and does not care enough to make it one when asked).

Twilight in Corfu
Twilight is a magical moment – a brief interlude every day between light and darkness. Well-defined shadows fill forms seen daylight, and a veil of mystery shrouds the land and the landscape of perception. As a very brief and fleeting it is, this breath between breaths. One has only to open and close and the light has been given a new measure of chiaroscuro. Another day has passed, and the next night brings the promise of countless dreams, but in this brief moment, a time each day to pass between the literal world of bold images and definitions in the shadows of a world less fathomable, it is sometimes possible to see – Just for a nanosecond – the face of the eternal.
Some may chide me, I know, to wax metaphysical, but I can help it. Like many others, I spend hours a day locked firmly in the universe of shapes and forms. I live my days, more or less as a realist, dealing with many problems that each literal one of us faces every day. All too rarely, I realize the veneration of subtlety, but when it intrudes on my consciousness – usually at the most unexpected moments – I can only dry dead stop and take note of greatness before me. In those moments catapulted me – almost beyond my control – in a world where the definitions are much less concrete, a space where questions seem more relevant than answers, a mental state where time seems nothing but an immature joke I can play myself, a split second when God shows his face and smile as I reel in the wonder of creation. Surely, we all experience these moments without But understanding eludes us again and again. That is the nature of what mystics throughout the centuries have called "A Sense of Wonder."
Recently, experience one of these moments. Occurred at dusk and took my dog for his evening stroll. I live in a semi-rural area in a single lane road that winds by the low hills behind my house. Small farms, pastures, weeds and untamed forests of cypress and olive trees define the landscape. You hear the crowing of cocks usual and the braying of donkeys, the hissing of cicadas and night owls call: these features are common elements in my environment, and ephemeral as they are, I very used to them and often have limited their attention. But on this special night, this twilight voluptuous, I found myself in a meadow a swarm of what must have been thousands of fireflies flashing beacons in perfect rhythm. I stopped short when dry, and my dog broke through the long grass (which is only about eight inches high) to an opening in a wall where he could also see the majesty of this show, often unseen. In fact, the time seemed to stop as together saw the pulsating lights outline a perfect model but indefinable, again and again. I was fascinated by the spectacle of nature, and what is more, I was happy – even happier – In my smallness suddenly perceived gap in my understanding seemingly obvious, and the fact that a force majeure had chosen this time and place of lovely party like my humble presence, but it was a coincidence almost imperceptible. There I stood, head and without notice, in the empyrean.
How many minutes remained in the meadow to see this ballet, funny, I can not say. For me, time had stopped, and the twilight gave way to darkness. Gradually, I started breathing again, the land resumed its rotation on its axis. I ventured a step further. I took another step backward. The ground beneath his feet seemed solid. But something had happened – something important. If only I could remember, if only I could embrace a new understanding, if only you could capture the moment and put it in a jar (as it did with the children the many fireflies as we started daylight turned to night), if I could somehow remain in the balance ecstasy of that moment for all eternity! But alas! I was released again as the darkness grew full and fireflies away, in the mundane world of my expectations always so close. Still, I'm glad, even for a vision of the ecstatic dance, and to revive my "sense of wonder."
As I wrote in my novel XENOS almost twenty years ago: "Sometimes one becomes fully aware that he is teetering on edge of a turning point in his life. If one is alert, Greece is full of such moments – moments when the night sky is clear and the stars are falling at sea, a time when he unexpectedly meets a stranger and his donkey at midnight on a dark road in a grove of trees swaying. This man walks slowly fleeting and slightly stooped, he carries on his shoulder a freshly cut sissy, wild herbs, gently gathered tonight in the shadows Selene. Could shout sincerely, whose emotional meaning than the language itself. Ah! For me the anxiety induced by this experience is bittersweet, but I remember with a smart slap reprimand and warning: up! Wake Watch over! This is the moment your life has been heading up. Do not miss it! "
Perhaps it is too lenient to reformulate the rhetorical questions that we all have asked a thousand times, but maybe they are, on the morning after the night before worthy of further investigation: Why do we allow such things as HDTV, the business balance sheets, high powered or vacuum packaging to dominate our lives to the point of building such ecstatic experiences (or fireflies, or a beautiful sunset or the wind in your hair, or the birth of a baby baboon) become rare and unexpected events, revealing and illuminating though they are? I'm as guilty of this oversight as anyone, but tonight, as the light fades into darkness, I will be reviewing the meadow to see if I could be a repeat performance. And if the fireflies have moved elsewhere, so be it. I just hope that wherever you are gone, someone is there to see the light I was so privileged to witness – even for an instant!
