I am the first to admit that I feel more comfortable and relaxed when everything is put in place in a perfectly organized. In fact I'm almost too organized for a failure. But there is something so satisfying to know that everything has a place and sit there until you need to use it comfortably. So I'll share the wealth of knowledge I have of the organization. Of course, we focus on the scrapbook! I have tried to summarize my favorites and the best things to do to organize your scrapbooking supplies (note that I am branching of traditional forms of things from the store):
1. Ornaments Spice Rack: Use a spice rack to organize adornments. Many stores sell racks that are perfect for wall mounting or can get one to rest on a table like a lazy Susan. Either way, the containers are the perfect size for flowers, tacks, staples, tiles, fasteners, eyelets, etc. Make sure you get the clear so you can see the decorations. Check out the section bathroom and kitchen in your local stores (like Target, Wal-Mart, etc.). You will be surprised what kinds of storage solutions can be reached for scrapbooking embellishments.
2. Hanging Jars: You can adapt the above idea and is really cheap too. You can do by placing bottles hanging pots preserved old baby food jars, or bottles with screw caps to other shelf. All you have to do is drill a hole through the lid and platform and screw the bottle to it. If you do not want to permanently have holes in their platform, just use double-sided adhesive velcro and attach it to the top the top and then under the platform. This would work better with baby food jars or plastic bottles lighter.
3. Scrapbookers Travel: If you are a Travelers scrapbooker, there are many things you can use to store all small ornaments. I have a tackle box that works well for storage. Probably the best I've seen besides the traditional storage bags, is the Caboodle (it was a plastic container of makeup). I had one when I was a teenager. Works great with all the compartments. Finding one at a garage sale (or your own garage …) Or check out your local stores for something similar in the cosmetics aisle.
4. Storage of paper: We all know that you can buy a lot of fun shelves, boxes and trays for the paper. However, although we are all trying to save for some expensive items, what are some other ways to save paper? I like the idea of using a drain plate (I'm not kidding-I in fact tried and love of accessibility is the paper!). 5. Place the paper storage: Ok, this is a bit more traditional for storing documents, but I think it is so unique that I had to speak it. I love the idea of being able to use the closet space to store your documents and other scrapbooking supplies.
However, the organization of trouble? Try a book of ideas for organizing scrapbooks. You too can become a scraper organization!
