Calulate the speed with which meteorite will strike the surface of star?

QUESTION:
A neutron star has radius 10 km and mass 2.5 x 10^29 kg. A meteorite is drawn into its gravitational field. Calculate speed with which it will strike the surface of the star. Neglect the initial speed of the meteorite.

My solution:

since for escape speed: decrease in KE = increase in PE
for striking speed: increase in KE = decrease in PE
**Are there two differences valid??**
Because the meteorite will fall from a height into the star’s surface- thus gaining kinetic energy, right??

therefore, for v

(1/2)m(v^2) = GMm / R
v = √(2GM / R)
where M = 2.5*10^29 kg and R = 10*10^3 = 10^4 m

so,
v=√( 2(6.67*10^-11)(2.5*10^29) / 10^4 ) = 5.78 * 10^7 m/s

**is this the correct way to do it??**

yes, that’s the right way, but if your teacher is obsessed with significant figures than the answer should be 5.8*10^7 m/s

An Unexpected Star: How the Wreplacements Stole My Heart

As I scanned independent series available on the varied portals researching my next article, I found a very interesting series, THE wREPLACEMENTS (www.thewreplacements.com). This series could rival 30 Rock, if it was a network series, but alas, it is just an Internet series. The production quality and writing are stellar and not just for the Internet. While, this series on its face seems like just another WGA strike video, it is much more – set against the backdrop of the strike just as Entourage is set against the backdrop of VIP Hollywood, the characters pop off the screen and at its core you are rooting for them to succeed.

I’ve been working in Hollywood for fifteen years; I have met and worked with every single one of these people. Ike, the old school, no nonsense Showrunner. David, the pansy that’s always afraid to lose his show and whimpering somewhere (don’t let these circumstances fool you – I would bet David is always on edge like this). Trip, the kid that had his shot, but let Hollywood get the best of him. Vincent, there is always a douche in the room. Marylou, the crazy lady that’s fond of cats and ponies and isn’t afraid to share it. Brian, the kid who might have talent if he wasn’t too busy getting everyone else coffee. Let me not forget Bob, the big man (or in this case little man) that seeks to crush all hopes and dreams of everyone.

This show is not just for insiders, but really anyone who has had a dream. These four “scabs” get a chance of a lifetime to live their dream. You should join them on their journey and let them steal your heart.
