Can I be an Airborne infantryman in the army?
I've never played traditional sports (which I never liked), but I've always wanted be a paratrooper. Ive done playing Airsoft, Airsoft CQB (believe me it is different airsoft paintball, its more based team and we put BDU and ruck sacks. Ive skateboarder in recent years, but my recruiter said that I probably can not do as the infantry, because I've never played the sport at school and I am calm. My parents think the same, I know I can do from Audie Murphy (my hero and greatest soldier ever did), but he says, because I've never played a sport or anything that can not. Is this true, is anyone else a foot soldier who never played sports (I want to confirm). Im 17 trying to do DEP
Your recruiter is an idiot and not know what you're talking about. You may be an airborne infantryman. I have seen hundreds of soldiers, while InProcess assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division infantry that were made in the Infantry and never played any organized sport. Is you in shape? If so, it's a great thing. You must be fit and play sports and not playing the sport does not mean they are not in shape. You are not quiet nothing to do with anything. You will be taught how to be a leader and how to talk. Go ahead and do it if that's what you do. Do not want to be stuck in a job not do. That will only ruin your experience in the military.
