at night, sometimes my dog licks and chews obsessively on my clothes while I'm using, why?

He just makes it late night, and does anyone in my house, myself, my boyfriend, my friend, whoever. Only obsessively licks and chews on the ends of the sleeves, pants … as be. You must be using the clothes as well, and loses interest in everything else. If you push him away from coming back. Never during the day, and no matter if its been several hours after we have eaten, left the house or whatever. Why is this??! (Hes a miniature shnauzer, if it matters) I've been its sole owner, so that no pushed him out, but I take him out several times during the day and night.
