If anyone connected to a lie detector test and says that these contradictory statements to be registered as true or false?
If you say "I'm lying" could not be lying, because you're telling the truth, but then again it could not be the truth, etc. .. The same with "I never tell the truth" could not be lying and could not be telling the truth, etc. .. Therefore, for states in conflict, how are recorded on a polygraph?
By giving a polygraph, the questions are phrased so that the answer is yes and no. This is done deliberately to avoid confusion. For example, will not be asked your name, say "Is your name _____?" They will not ask what did you steal items from your last employer, will ask "Did you Once you've stolen from your employer? "

Are there clear signs of lying? Unfortunately, study after study shows that most people could well flip a coin to determine whether a person is lying, instead of relying on intuition or lie detector skills. However, research also shows that some people are good and consistent in the lie detection. That is a very important fact, and though often ignored, not discussed by researchers. Usually, only briefly mentioned, as if the small number of people who have these skills makes it insignificant.
Instead of the rejected as insignificant, it may be better to see what these people are doing. Does not it seem a more useful? And when we look, we see something of these human lie detectors is to use what they know about the individual.
How to tell if someone is lying
When you see the signs of lying, you use what you know about the behavior of the person. In other words, try to think like a polygraph operator, by comparing behavior in people under suspicion to their "base" behavior. Looking for a change in behaviors that may indicate lying.
For example, if a man is always moving in his chair, then this feature can not be regarded as a indication of lying. Moreover, if is normally very calm under pressure, but begins to change in his chair after certain questions, more likely to indicate a lie. Always look for those personal habits and the signs of lying.
By the way, this shows the flaw in the common scientific view who says you can not tell if someone is lying. Most screening tests for things like the eye of the avoidance or sweat or hand movements, and is none of them reliably indicate a lie. However, the indicators are looking only statistically, based on a general test of a group without regard with any of the known character traits or habits of individuals being tested.
I will use an extreme example to show the flaw in this approach. Suppose a group of 100 people, 50 always looked away when you lied, and 50 always focus more directly on you when they lied. These indicators are large a Once you've learned that people in the group with the behavior, right?
But a researcher with the question: "Are you looking away correlated with lies? That way, you will have a decent indication he or she lying the next time you see that behavior repeated. The more personal indicators you are aware, more insurance may be that the person is lying.
Consider this: If such psychological "tells" or signs of lying were meaningless, there would be much less consistent winners in poker. There are consistent winners in poker, by the way, and they often win because they are good at detecting a "bluff." (They also know the odds, of course). Evidence that there is strong there are signs of lies that are useful.
