Euclid Truck – Wafer Check Valve – manufacturer of flexible rubber Common

Founders History Since its inception, the company of Euclid, of Ohio, specializes in off-road heavy carriers, which were designed from scratch, as carriers of off-road – as opposed to other companies, just to amend OTR trucks for off-hauling dirt road. The crane lifting of Euclid and Co, owned by George A. Armington and his five children, was already a big operation, highly respected and profitable when, in 1924, introduced Automatic Rotary Scraper Euclid – followed soon after by the Euclidean Wheeler (Wheels) scraper. These points earthmoving were designed by Georges eldest son, Arthur, who was convinced of a good future was in the design of earthmoving equipment, which led the company in the earthmoving field. The two models of scrapers were a resounding success and a third model, the contractors of Special Euclid, was even more successful as it was designed to cope with the hard earth. Arturo and his father had built even a prototype crawler successfully, and tested it on the family farm, just before this, but the idea fell on tracks, for reasons unknown. The success of the scrapers led to the formation of the Road Machinery Division, Crane Euclid and elevation in 1926. Large public works programs to build 1927 and 1928, which requires large quantities of soil to be shifted, he saw a most successful Road Euclid division machinery. Euclid produced crawler wagons on tracks (similar to Athey wagon), known as Euclid-Tu Camino carriers. The restriction crawler speed was seen as a problem, and the next version was on steel wheels, to improve speed. Armington George Jr was a designer of hydraulic systems acute, and produced the first hydraulic tipping Euclid around 1930. Great Depression The Great Depression did not seem to affect greatly on Euclid, and the expansion of earth-moving part of the company in Euclid, led to the incorporation Machinery Co Euclid Road, July 11, 1931. The company remains a subsidiary of the Corporation Armington Euclid, until January 1, 1933, when companies split – Euclid Road Machinery and undertook a career dedicated to produce quick, off-road Earth-moving carriers. The company produced its first Euclid, dedicated and specifically designed, 7 yards (6.4 meters) long, off-highway dump truck model 1Z, January 1934. It was powered by a gasoline engine with 100 hp Waukesha. We used a special design, very high, Euclid rear axle, equipped with a new tire 17.5 x 24, which had just been released by the tire industry. While Mack had been a 14 yard (12.8 m) long, heavy transport of road in 1931 specifically for the Boulder Dam Project (Model AP-Super Duty) – which was basically an enhanced running, road, the chain AC traction Bulldog Mack. The next design of Euclid, was an articulate, tractor / trailer style (a la the Caterpillar DW10), background downloader. This was known as the Model Z or ZW. expansion of the company From these early machines, Euclid was able to produce thousands of off-road carriers and scrapers, a time design better and bigger and became a major undertaking for the 1950s. The 1950s was a period of great expansion and mergers, and in 1953, Euclid Corporation was purchased by General Motors, in what leaders of both companies saw as an advantageous trade with complementary product lines. This agreement occurred due to the desire and awakened from GM to enter the earthmoving field of manufacturing and the performance by the Armington family that the acquisition GM would provide capital and design capability could only dream. The acquisition agreement was announced at GM's September 30, 1953, with the date of procurement officers are January 1, 1954. Armington Arthur had died suddenly in 1937, resulting in a setback in the fortunes Euclids – but George Armington died only in 1954, at age 89, after overseeing the sale very satisfactory and successful conduct of Euclid to GM. Stuart & Sons Armington Everett retired in 1953 and George Jr. retired in 1958 – with the youngest son of Ray, the last Armington retiring in 1960 after seven years as Director General of Euclid's GM Division. The 1950s and 1960s were good years for Euclid trucks. Euclid was the industry first 50 tons, 3 axle dump truck with two Cummins power, 1951. Euclid produced two and three-axle dump trucks with capacity of up to 105 tons in this period – with any of the three major units of the axis, is used as tractors end dumps even more, and bottom dump carriers. But antitrust suit in 1959, the Department of Justice under Attorney General William P. Rogers initiated an antitrust suit under the Clayton Act, against General Motors Corporation – the assessment that GM was too dominant, and its business methods stifled real competition in the off-road transport and earthmoving market. GM fought the suit eight years ago, finally surrendering in 1968, in agreeing the sale of the Division Euclid's GM. After the litigation against monopolies and the sale of Euclid to White Motor Corporation, GM Terex formed his own label. Under the sale agreement White Motor Corporation, GM is not allowed the truck market in competition with White Motor Corporation for four years from July 1st 1968-1 julio 1972. GM could produce outside road transport vehicles in this period – but could not sell in the U.S. equipment dealers U.S. GM were given a franchise agreement White Motor Corporation, to sell the white / Euclid line of trucks, for a period of four years. Euclid international dealers were still GM's hands – forcing White Motor Corporation to begin training for all new international licensees. GM produces trucks in the period 1968-1972, that had developed during his ownership of Euclid – from plants in Canada and Scotland, which had been allowed to keep. These were sold as Terex, but they were essentially the same line of Euclid. Euclid Company lost its high profile, after the sale of White Motor Corporation, and never reached the importance once enjoyed before its acquisition by GM. In the 1950s when he mentioned off-road dump trucks, referred to as the "Euc, just we like to say today for Kleenex tissues. Current status of the company was bought by Hitachi Construction Machinery Co. Ltd. is now producing a range of truck models with the name of Hitachi (although still commonly described as a Euclid and more components still carry the name of Euclid. The castings are too expensive to change for the good of the brand. There are two types of machines currently in production – both are "rigid dumper" models (dump trucks with a rigid frame, non-articulated). Building smaller, quarry trucks (30 ton – 90 ton) are dwarfed by the largest mining truck the 140ton – Range 450ton. The production moved from Euclid, Ohio of Guelph in Ontario, Canada and carried out. The trucks are very modern and are even equipped with silencers and a computer controller and have to meet environmental requirements for sound and exhaust emissions. There are some trucks that are currently used in mines in the United States can be seen in Canada in Fort McMurray, and throughout China, Australia, Africa, Indonesia and South America as well. Despite the heady days of the needs American infrastructure has declined there is still much need for infrastructure and mining. smaller construction trucks, 32 ton capacity 36tons, are being built in India by Telcon, a joint venture between Tata and Hitachi Construction Machinery Co. Ltd. of Japan. These smaller trucks are technology older – have been previously manufactured in Poland under license from VME (Volvo Michigan Euclid). The construction market for these technologies old trucks is India. White sold Euclid, Inc. for Daimler Benz AG of Stuttgart, Germany in August 1977 and January 1984, Daimler-Benz sold Euclid to one of the former competitors Euclid, Clark Equipment Company and became part of the Clark Company Michigan, as the construction machinery division was then called Clark. April Next, Clark formed a 50/50 joint venture with Volvo AB Sweden, now known as Volvo Construction Equipment for the manufacture of Volvo, Michigan and Euclid team construction under the name of VME Group NV. VME suffered some rather confusing divisions among its operations in America and Europe, culminating in 1991 in creating a North American unit VME to handle only the lines of Euclid. In December 1993, VME North America entered into a joint venture with Japan itself Hitachi Construction Machinery Co. Ltd., called Euclid-Hitachi Heavy Equipment. Hitachi Construction Machinery Co. Ltd., a manufacturer of construction machinery such as hydraulic excavators and cranes, gradually increased their participation in the joint venture until he owned 100% of the company in 2000. Euclid Hitachi returned to fill the void felt in their ability to offer a complete package of mining, such as dump trucks, excavators and mining usually needed in combination with others. Euclid-Hitachi became Hitachi Construction Truck Manufacturing on January 1, 2004, and the green of the famous Euclid Hitachi was replaced with orange. The trade name Euclid and nomenclature of the model were gradually eliminated by the end of the year, ending 80 years of Euclid's name appearing on construction machinery. The evolution of Euclid R60 A dump truck company Euclid Euclid, OH, was synonymous with road-off transport trucks and earthmoving equipment as bottom dumpers, and to a lesser extent, scrapers, in the 1950s. As described in Herbert L. Nicholas "Moving Earth", now in its 5 edition, Euclid was everywhere. GM working on heavy-duty automatic transmissions during the Second World War, had produced an automatic right heavy Allison in 1945 and Euclid was the first to use this transmission in heavy off-road dump trucks, at the end of 1940 because it met the need for transmission industrial high-power capacity, which was eagerly sought, as the engine size increased beyond the point at which the current transmission could not compared to the available power. Euclid was a pioneer in the use of two engines (Twin-Power) in a bottom dump (102W-50FDT model) in November 1948. His first prototype energy of double standards (Model 51FDT-13SH) appeared in February 1949, and production of Twin-Power scrapers models were released in 1950 (GM-led model 68FDT-17SH – and the model of Cummins power, 66FDT-16SH). Previous to the purchase of GM of Euclid, the engine of choice, by Euclid, was a Cummins diesel. However, Detroit GM two-stroke Diesel is offered as an option. When GM bought Euclid, took to the dismay by Cummins, as they could be losing an important customer. The seizure of power was engines to GM is the engine of choice – however, the Cummins option was still available, although Cummins trucks sold in lower numbers after GM took over Euclid. Ranging from 10-62 tons capacity, these lumbering giants roamed the open pit mines, heavy construction and quarry sites the world. End of Euclid's landfills reached 210 tonnes of capacity in the 1980s. Euclid trucks were loaded usually operated cable shovels crawler excavators and other manufacturers, but Euclid also developed mobile belt loader to load dump trucks of their background. Another type of machine Euclid was a pioneer in high-speed tractor belly dumper. This machine combines a road tractor with fifth wheel, and a very large (at that time) until 100 tons capacity, belly dump trailer. This machine, a descendant of the bottom dump wagons pulled by bulldozers, met its burden through longitudinal door at the bottom of the trailer. The first of these trucks carried 13 cubic yards, but in the early 1960s the ability to reach 110 tons. These dumpers belly, and out of his depth, end dump brothers were loaded normally operated by cable, crawler loaders trademarks of other manufacturers. Euclid also the tractor factory scrapers, as were invented by RG LeTourneau (later became LeTourneau-Westinghouse, after the takeover by LeTourneaus Westinghouse Air Brake) and now almost uniquely manufactured by Caterpillar. Euclid tractor scrapers are powered by the same tractor overturned his belly. Interestingly, Euclid was the first major manufacturer to market today articulated rubber universal charger fatigue, the mainstay of many heavy equipment manufacturers today, especially Caterpillar.
