It was the Civil War (1861-1865) described in the recent film was a real experience on the battlefield?
I have read in many history books military that many soldiers in the Civil War died of disease and poor medical treatment in the battlefield. I was wondering is the Hollywood version Civil War is similar to the actual period.
Try observing the principle of "Dances With Wolves." Which shows part of the fun. (I talking about the hospital scene.)
