The remaining 35 percent of the audience originates in countries outside the UK, with 100 million viewers followed the broadcast to the world event.
For many, the highlight of the Edinburgh Tattoo is the concentrated pipes and drums provided by the regiments of both the British Army and armies of international connections in Scotland. Every night for each year of the Tattoo, the show concludes with a ceremonial flag of the reduction, which is accompanied by bugles sounding the last post (or "bugle call Sunset Royal Marines) and finally ends with a lone Piper into a single focus of play on the walls of Edinburgh Castle.
While the Edinburgh Tattoo sold out months in advance Each year, the 2005 Tattoo was especially popular. This was because the 2005 event was the last time that the six infantry regiments of the Division of Scotland presented in the tattoo, before they were merged into the single Royal Regiment of Scotland. The year 2005 also saw the largest gathering of pipes and drums in the history of event.
